Hey guys, how's it going today? Me, I'm doing pretty good, just chilling after a long weekend at my daughters' horse shows. They both did really good, too. Alyssa totally blew me away (she's my youngest), because she was in six classes on Saturday, which were: Advanced Walk/Trot/Individual Canter, and she got fourth, third, and second place in the first round, and Reserve Champion for the entire class, and then after that, in her next three classes, she second place and two first places, making her the Champion of the entire class. That was the shit, because here I am on the sidelines bitching to my mom and dad that she was up against older kids (a couple were 12 and one was 13, and Alyssa is 10), and also that I didn't think she was ready to be in advanced classes instead of beginner classes, and damn, that kid showed me up!! I was really proud of her. Then yesterday, she was in three classes (they were the same thing), and she got third and two seconds. It was great - I was really excited for her, and it gave Alyssa a lot more confidence in her ability, which was great.
Amanda did well too, but for some reason, her mare, Zoe, acted up almost the entire time, which is unusual for her to do. Amanda was in eight classes, which were Advanced and Intermediate Flat Equitation, (on that one, she only placed sixth once, but it was still cool she placed at all with Zoe being a butthole), Advanced Equitation Crossrails, where she place fifth and fourth, Advanced Equitation Eighteen Inch Fence, where she place third and second, and finally she did Advanced Equitation Two-Foot Fence, where she placed second, and then on her very last ride, she got first place! I was so excited for her, because she placed first out of seven girls, and the only kid around amanda's age was 10, and the other five were 14 and up. So to me, that was kicking ass and taking some names, because those older girls are "supposed" to be more experienced and all that, and Amanda showed them up. HEH! Anyway, it made her feel really good, and especially after getting so discouraged because Zoe was acting up. So, ok, that's my bragging moment let loose - sometimes, a mother just has to talk her kids up, ya know? It's part of a mother's job! One more thing...I just wanted to let everyone know that I locked that entry about Mark up, because I figured that there would be someone out there who would go to his bands' website and drop him an email about what I wrote just to be hateful...gee, I wonder who would do something like that to me? Whoever could it be? So, if any of you want to read it to catch up, just leave me a note and I'll send you the link. For now, I'm off. Peace out~ jj1:01 p.m. - June 23, 2003
